Converting a JPEG to PNG changes its file format. It does not recover image detail already discarded during JPEG compression, and it does not remove the background automatically. PNG supports transparency, but a JPEG source already contains an opaque image. Conversion alone will not turn that background into transparent pixels.
Use the U18-CHAN Jpg To Png alongside this guide.
Choose the JPEG source
Open JPG to PNG and select a JPEG file from your device. Check the preview and its pixel dimensions so you know you selected the right image. The input is decoded and exported in the browser rather than submitted to an image-processing server. Keep a copy of the source before replacing files in another application.
Generate and download the PNG
Process the image, inspect the result and download it. The tool preserves dimensions for this conversion. PNG output may be considerably larger than the source JPEG, especially for photographs. A larger file is a consequence of the output encoding rather than evidence that lost visual information has returned.
Choose another tool when needed
Use Image Resizer if you also need different dimensions. Use Image Cropper for a defined rectangle, or Image Converter if you want to compare JPEG, PNG and WebP. A quality setting changes JPEG and WebP exports; it does not turn the browser PNG exporter into an adjustable lossy compressor.
Verify the receiving workflow
Open the downloaded file in the application that needs PNG and check its appearance. Metadata can change during canvas export, and colour appearance can vary across applications. These built-in tools are for still JPEG, PNG and WebP images. For animation, print colour management or specialist photography formats, choose software suited to that task.
A simple finishing check
Keep the original input, inspect the result and confirm that it fits the destination where you plan to use it. If a result looks unexpected, try a small harmless example and read the limitations on the tool page before proceeding.
